COMMISSIONER BOB HARRIS RESIGNS TO BECOME TOWN’S FULLTIME POLICE CHIEF
Commissioner Robert (BOB) Harris has tendered his resignation as a Town Commissioner effective 31 Mar 19 in order to continue to fulfill his duties as the Town of Pittsville’s first ever Police Chief in a full time employee status as approved by the Commissioners of Pittsville. Chief Harris has been serving as the Town’s Chief of Police in a volunteer status since the establishment of the police department in March, 2018. He not only will be responsible for the management/operations of the police department but will also continue to serve as the Town’s Code Enforcement Official and Housing Officer per the newly adopted Residential Rental Housing Ordinance. The Town Commissioners wish to thank Commissioner Harris for his dedication and support during his tenure and look forward to working with him in his new role as Chief of Police.
